Coolant/Antifreeze Replacement

Float Image

As an engine accumulates more miles, coolant can become corrosive. The coolant should be changed at manufacturer recommended intervals. If it is not flushed on a regular basis, it will cause problems in the cooling system.

If engine coolant is not maintained properly, it can become corrosive and start eating away at components in the cooling system. Parts, such as the water pump impeller, and the thin passages inside the radiator begin degrading as a result of the corrosive coolant. This can eventually lead to overheating and coolant leaks. Loose particles floating in the coolant can start collecting in the heater core reducing the flow of coolant through it. Eventually, the heater core can plug and it will result in no heat in the passenger compartment. Coolant should be flushed on a regular basis in order to prevent unnecessary repairs to the cooling system.
