Exhaust manifold Repairs

Float Image

The exhaust manifold collects exhaust from each cylinder and diverts it to a single pipe. The exhaust manifold is exposed to extreme heat, and as a result can warp or crack.

After a fuel air/mixture is burned, it is pushed out of the combustion chamber and cylinder head into the exhaust manifold. The exhaust manifold collects the exhaust gas from each cylinder and diverts it to one single pipe. Some vehicle have more than one exhaust manifold, especially 'V' style engines. The exhaust manifold endures extreme heat, and as a result, it can crack. When an exhaust manifold cracks, exhaust gases can escape into the engine compartment instead of out the tailpipe. Exhaust gases escaping before the tailpipe pose a potential risk to the passengers of the vehicle as these gasses could enter the passenger compartment.
